In the marina of Zeebrugge the Coastal Division is working hard on the renovation of the slope along the Omooikaai. This involves working for the first time with an open structure of the slope. That means that the slope is not fully filled up with concrete, but that one uses concrete columns. The advantage of this is that if a leakage would occur in the slope, it will be quickly noticed because of sinking cubes. If a slope is completely closed up with concrete, then it often takes long for such a leak to be noticed.
